Pinpoint pupils, or miosis, is a classic sign seen in narcotic overdose, as narcotics affect the brain's response to light and the muscles that control pupil size.

The other signs associated with different conditions, such as agitation and hyperactivity or pupil dilation with elevated heart rate, are more common with stimulant overdoses rather than narcotics. Severe sweating and high blood pressure might be observed in various other medical situations but are not characteristic of narcotic overdose.
